Dr. Paula Gable, LMFT, LAC, AAMFT-S

Over 30 years ago, Dr. Paula set out to answer one question: what does a family actually need to heal? Not a program. Not a label. A real answer — tailored, evidence-based, and built to last.

She founded Mindful Flourishing Institute as a 501(c)3 nonprofit because she believed quality coaching and family programming should never be gated by income or geography. Today the institute serves families across the globe through coaching, courses, workshops, and retreats.

Our principles

Four things we refuse to compromise on

Evidence above anecdoteEvery modality we use — CBT, EFT, Gottman Method, Family Systems — is grounded in peer-reviewed research, not trend.
Strength before deficitWe start with what is already working in your family and build outward from there, not from what is broken.
Practical over theoreticalInsight alone doesn't change families. Every session ends with something you can actually do before the next one.
Access for every familyAs a 501(c)3 nonprofit we offer sliding-scale fees and global video sessions so cost and geography are never barriers.
Hands held together — care and connection

Our mission

Stronger families.
Healthier relationships.
Better lives.

We believe healing is possible for every family — regardless of where they are starting from, how long the struggle has lasted, or how complicated the road ahead appears.

The extended team

Eduardo Flores

Eduardo is our family educator and workshop facilitator. He leads the Strengthening Families and Step-Parenting workshop tracks, bringing a systems-oriented perspective built on years of direct work with blended families and youth in high-stress environments.

His facilitation style pairs psychoeducation with practical skill-building — participants leave each workshop with a written action plan, not just ideas.

How we work with every client

Three commitments, every session

01

We listen without an agenda

The first priority is understanding your actual situation — not fitting you into a pre-built program. Assessment precedes prescription.

02

We build from your strengths

Progress happens faster when we amplify what is already working in your family than when we spend every session on what isn't.

03

We equip, not create dependency

The goal is that you need us less over time — because you have internalized the tools, frameworks, and patterns that sustain change.
